Nicky Epstein’s Crocheted Flowers
Nicky’s book is very lovely. Not only are her crocheted flowers brilliantly designed and made, but the book itself is lovely. Its bright colors and sweet swirling motifs are enough to make even someone who doesn’t know how to crochet want to look at it.
The projects in this book can be made with only a small amount of difficulty. My favorites are the Pansies. They look so real. Some of the flowers are soft and feminine while others are bold and artsy. She has flowers with layered petals that range from Poppies and roses to classy holiday flowers embellished with beads and crystals. She also has felted flowers, twisted technique flowers, and chain stitch flowers.
The garments are a little bit off-beat but the main focus of the book are the flowers with the garments as a back ground, so over all, this is a really good book. With over 50 different types of crocheted flowers, I would recommend it to any one who wants to crochet something small but versatile and stylish, or an accessory for any occasion.
