I used to do a lot of sewing and one of the things I used to make were really little cloth mermaids. At first I used the Magic Cabin Mermaid kit but they didn’t feel special because they were so big (I think that dolls are always more enjoyable to make when they’re really small).
So I scanned their sewing pattern for the dolls and made them a couple sizes smaller on my computer. Then I bought raw silk in a bunch of different colors to make the tails and I bought fabric for the skin from Waldorf Dolls in different skin tones so that I could make mermaids of different races. I made quite a few of these little dolls before I got tired of them and moved on to something else (knitting) but a couple of days ago I was cleaning out my studio and I ran across them, and I found one that I was apperently in the middle of making when I stopped. I think it was supposed to be one of my brothers..with a blue tail.
I was thinking about making a few more sometime soon, altough they will most likely just end up like all the others, stuck at the bottom of a yarn box.
